Stay close to the group — with choices to fit different styles and budgets

HOME BASE

Choosing Where to Stay

To make the reunion easy and enjoyable, we focused on lodging options that keep most of us in the same general area of Florence, within comfortable walking distance of key reunion activities and of one another. At the same time, we wanted to offer real choice—different styles, price ranges, and levels of service—rather than a single mandatory hotel.

The options below include:

  • A centrally located hotel that works well as a natural gathering point

  • A boutique / apartment-style option for those who prefer more space and a quieter setting

  • A budget-friendly option for those prioritizing cost

  • An upscale, independent hotel option for those who prefer to book on their own

You are not required to stay at any of these hotels. Many participants may choose Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com, or another hotel. If you do, we recommend staying within or near the historic center for convenience.

Boutique rooms & apartments

Your Place in Florence – Palazzo San Niccolò

Palazzo San Niccolò, managed by Your Place in Florence, offers a boutique-style alternative to a traditional hotel. Located on a quiet street in the San Niccolò / Oltrarno neighborhood, it features a mix of rooms, studios, and apartments—ideal for those who prefer more space or a calmer setting.

Reunion Context

While Hotel degli Orafi is not part of our coordinated hotel arrangements, several alumni have already chosen to stay here independently. It remains a convenient and attractive option for those who prefer an upscale hotel experience.

Location & Neighborhoods

To keep things simple and walkable, we focused on lodging options in and around Florence’s historic center, all within easy walking distance of the Ponte Vecchio and major reunion activities. Each option offers a slightly different atmosphere while keeping everyone close together.

Recommended Lodging Areas:

• B&B Hotel Firenze Pitti Palace al Ponte Vecchio
Oltrarno / Ponte Vecchio
Located directly at the Ponte Vecchio — essentially the geographic center of our reunion area.

• Palazzo San Niccolò (Your Place in Florence)
San Niccolò / Oltrarno
Approximately a 12–15 minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio. A quieter, more residential neighborhood just east of the historic core.

• Ospitalità Salesiani Don Bosco
San Donato / Novoli (north of center)
Approximately a 20–25 minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio. A simple, budget-friendly option slightly farther out, with tram and bus access.

• Hotel degli Orafi
Historic Center / Uffizi
Just across the Arno from the Ponte Vecchio (about a 3–5 minute walk). An upscale option in the heart of the historic center.

All locations are walkable and well connected, making it easy to meet up informally throughout the reunion while still choosing the style of lodging that suits you best.

Choosing Where to Stay

These lodging options are intended to give everyone a few solid choices while keeping the group in roughly the same area of Florence. Whether you prefer a central hotel, a quieter neighborhood, or a more budget-friendly option, all locations are close enough to make meeting up easy throughout the reunion.

You are, of course, welcome to stay elsewhere in Florence — including Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com, or other hotels — if that better suits your travel plans. The options listed here are simply those we reviewed and felt would work especially well for the reunion.

Additional booking details and updates will be shared as they become available.
