Remember Panini?

Remember Panini? Those fabulous little Italian sandwiches that we used to buy at our little Panifico on Via San Zenobi?

Unfortunately our old Panificio is long gone, and although Panini are much harder to find? They can still be had. Below are some photos of my favorite and it’s ingredients*: a panino with Salami Milanese and Bel Paese, a wonderful soft, mild white cheese that might be too bland for some, but was perfection for me. For variety? I’d change out the Salami for Prosciutto. With no condiments, of course.

Another early lesson for me in fine dining, thanks to Italia. Use the best ingredients. Prepared simply. By an expert. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

One of the things we intend to do is provide a list of restaurants for both lunch and dinner during our stay, like Trattoria Anita. In Italia? It doesn’t have to be expensive to be delicious. If you have other eating suggestions or questions? Let us know.
