Remember the field trips we took back in the day? We are going to do it again with a scenic coach ride to an as-yet-undetermined location. I expect there will be food and wine involved. We will return to Florence in the late afternoon.

Cooking with Carlotta – Tuscan Cooking Class

Optional Small Group Activity
Join classmates for a hands-on Tuscan cooking experience hosted by Cooking with Carlotta, set in a charming countryside cottage just outside Florence. This immersive class includes the preparation of traditional dishes such as fresh handmade pasta, seasonal specialties, and dessert, followed by a shared meal with wine.

Guests are welcomed with a traditional Italian aperitivo, and the experience emphasizes both authentic recipes and the warmth of Tuscan hospitality. Transportation involves a short tram ride from central Florence, followed by a brief pickup to the cottage.

Uffizi Gallery & Vasari Corridor Experience

Explore one of the world’s great art museums, the Uffizi Gallery, followed by a unique walk through the historic Vasari Corridor—a private elevated passageway connecting the Uffizi to the Pitti Palace.

This experience combines a morning museum visit with a guided corridor walk and a relaxed lunch in the Oltrarno neighborhood.

Amaro Tasting at Enoteca Alessi

 Join a small group for a relaxed Italian aperitivo and amaro tasting experience at a traditional Florentine enoteca, featuring a curated selection of Italian amaros, light aperitivo, and shared local specialties. 

We’ll gather in the wine cellar at Enoteca Alessi, known for its exceptional selection of Italian spirits.

The experience will begin with a light Italian aperitivo (vermouth or spritz), followed by a guided tasting of several different amaros—ranging from lighter, citrus-forward styles to more complex and bitter expressions. Small plates of cheese, salumi, and other Tuscan specialties will be served throughout.

This is a casual, social tasting—no prior knowledge required, just curiosity and a willingness to try something new.
